finally a challenge done - OUAS

hey all
well it has taken some time but i have finally done a layout for a challenge - once upon a sketch. i havent done any challenges lately as i have been quite sick from this pregnancy so it has only been dt work. i loved the sketch by nadia and knew exactly what photo to use and i have kept pretty much exactly to the sketch only mirrored it to suit.

i have used 7gypsies tissue paper for the base and washed it with white and aqua paints and used chocolate glimmermists and walnut stain ink. The papers are My Minds Eye Stella Rose - using some leftovers from my stash.

SASS Random Draw - Have a look at the Get Picky June Inspiration...... & give it a go!

well the new inspiration prompt is up over at Get Picky & & Tanya and Nikki have a fantastic prize to give away! I created the background with lots n lots of glimmermist, i think there are four colours on here? Used Glimmerglam for the drops running down the page. I love creating pages like this with heaps of texture.

You will note i have not used any patterned papers, only mixed media.

I have to say that I thought I would "fray-up" the muslin, and got inspiration from Lou Nelson. Love her work! Although I am not as minimal as her.

i used my ds spare passport pics.... isnt he adorable! haha that face is a perfect passport pic. no smile, and looking directly at the camera. and please excuse his wet spot on his t-shirt...... crazy was hoping that it wouldnt show in the photo, but it did!

& i love working with 7gypsies tissue paper! love it!! oh n i love the papers too....

I have a class coming up at Made With Memories all to do with the backgrounds I create... so stay tuned!!!! will be a fun n messy class.... :)

Zoology - Bo Bunny...

it has been such a long time between posts... i am alive and have been doing a lil bit of scrapping. and i really need to share some of these pages!! must do a mega post soon!

in my design team pack for this month from Made with Memories Anne-Marie gave me the Bo Bunny Zoology to play with. When I seen the chipboard sheet I knew what i was going to create... a shadow box! I got started pretty much straight away... did not get a chance to get down to the shops to get a proper box, so had to make do with something i found around the house. i covered it in brown paper and painted so it looked like an ordinary box and once i started i couldnt put it down until i had finished it!
here is the end product:

there are lots n lots of layers.... and i wish i could put the real thing up so everyone could touch n feel n see!!

i am going to make a start on a layout with this paper this arvo as i still have tons of product to play with.

Get Picky Sketch Challenge #8

Ok well the new Get Picky sketch is up over on their blog.... I love Get Picky's challenges and love being on their design team.

This month we were very lucky to be given some Scrapmatts chipboard to work with, and I love them!!! Scrapmatts are the sponser for the sketch challenge and the winner will def have a great prize!! wish i could enter to get some more! haha

and my take - i have pretty much kept to the sketch but added a few more layers.

i have been waiting to use these websters pages papers and wanted to do a fun glam page. and after the pics we took at the usher concert, i thought they would be perfect. i have used scrapmatts butterflies and oval frame. i inked them black and added a very thick layer of glossy accents.

Get Picky Inspiration challenge!!!

hey!!!

hope everyone has been well lately. i have finally started feeling better. still get extremely tired though - was never like this is ds1, it feels as if this baby is draining every bit of energy out of me.... i feel like that song (not sure who sings it...) "i dont feel like doing anything..... i just want to lay in my bed" its crazy!!!!! and i know when lil bub is born i will get next to no sleep too.... so its a big roundabout really. my lil boy has just started sleeping through the night (after 15months) but i gathered he will get there when he is ready and he did. wat a good lil man he is!

anyways if u havent had the chance to do so, you should head on over to get picky and have a go at their inspiration challenge this month. its a great colour combo with a pic to give u some more inspiration.

lots of texture on the background using texture paste and mist.

i also have been doing design team work for Made with Memories. I keep forgetting to photo the layouts before i take them into the store. Anne-Marie gets in lovely products at her shop and I love it! I am also holding my first scrapbooking class in June!!! can not wait.... should be fun and I love to teach people new techniques!!!!

anyways better go..... got the never-ending housework to do!

Get Picky Sketch #7

Hey all
yes it has been such a long long time!!!
i have been quite ill lately and have not had the energy to scrap (whats wrong with me u ask?????)..... well here is the reason
yes - i am pregnant! 12 weeks now!! yay! i have kinda passed the morning sickness although still do get it occasionally but still have not found the energy. i remember being 'zapped' with ds1 until about 20weeks so fingers crossed i will be bouncing around soon n back to my scrap room! it was amazing seeing our lil bub on screen the other day for the 1st time - absolutely amazing!! so so happy!!

anyways thought i would share my very first design team layout for the Get Picky Sketch #7.... i LOVE Get Picky's challenges and am so over the moon to be on their very talented design team. the other girls work is absolutely inspiring!
