Show Us Your Stuff - Jan #2 Challenge

Hey all, such a muggy day again in Perth! hate the humidity esp when i only have evap aircon!! grr, lucky we dont get much of this weather in perth!! so its a perfect time to stay at home n scrap!!!

at last minute i thought i would do the show us your stuff challenge Jan #2 - you must include the following things on your layout.
*Stitching (hand, machine or faux)- so i have stitched a lil in the corners of the paper n also on the pink paislee resist paper as a border
*Misting - well i really went to town!! hehe misted the background, misted the muslin flower, misted the papers hehe
*buttons - have a few on the page
*4 or more patterned paper - well have got 4 diff ones here
*Something handmade!! - my muslin flower, not sure if the background kraft works (i have texture pasted it and stamped - i think its called a damask effect? and purple pumpkin button
pheww!!!

My Boy
the page is really about wondering whether i should go back to work or not.... we have so much fun together during the day and deep down i know i should be at home with him..... my form is in at work n i start back on the 7th march!

ok here it goes i have used -
cardstock - bazzill kraft
papers - 7 gypsies, prima, pink paislee
embell - prima flowers, mask n pebble, purple pumpkin button, other buttons, collections heart, dusty attic chipboard, fruit netting, machine stitching, pin, kaiser rhinestones, artisian elements, twine
other - texture paste, inks, prima stamp

Cousins make the best of friends - Scrap Jacked

hey all - just want to say a BIG thank you to all the lovely comments I have received! they mean sooo much esp when u go through n think is my work really good enough n up to standard with all u otha girls gorgeous LO's?? so thank you!

thought i might give the scrap jack challenge a go for the first time, you have to scrap lift one of the fab lo's from their creative team. I chose to scrap lift Mandy's!

I loved the series of photos and natural textures she used as well as how she positioned her journalling and also how she journalled directly onto the page! i tried to keep with the embellies to the left and flow to the right.... hehe

i have called my LO "Cousins make the best of friends" I have used MLS papers, bazzil cardstock, amercian craft chipboard fence, purple pumpkin buttons, fancy pants rubons, and MLS alphas and various other chipboard alphas which i could find... oh year the big chipboard tree is scrapware, twine and made the lil words myself, maya rd pin! phewww....

so here it is.... its diff from my other lo's as i dont see myself as a very good Boy Page scrapper n find it so difficult to do boy pages.......

Bird is the Word Challenge - Jan 16th

Hey - have had this LO finished for a couple of days now but hadn't got around to posting it up!

just took a pic of it..... its about 7pm here in perth and you can imagine how much light i havent got! haha.... oh well. It is for Bird is the Word challenge..... you had to use the work SHINE

this is my other LO i have done with the Jack n Jill collection - i loved this photo of me n my lil baby. he is only 6 months old here! where has the time gone??? he is 1 in 2 weeks! arhhh! haha. he is always so smiling n happy. the day we took this photo we were heading out to my hubbys work lunch, it was winter but you would never guess... the sun was shining sooooo bright!!!! hence, the squinting! haha

i have used bazzill cardstock, prima jack n jill papers, book page, prima rubons, prima flowers & leaves, twine, kaiser pearls, artisian element, maya road pin & envelope, mls alphas, thickers, other flowers, tattered angels glimmermist, ink

hmmm i LOVE these papers!!

Get Picky #4 Sketch

Ok now I am just squeezing this one in for the Get Picky #4 sketch challenge.... the deadline is in about 5hrs well maybe 4 now!! so better make it a quick post.

my baby boy's eyes are beautiful, when i look at him it makes me think of the bruno mars song just the way you are. so i have called my LO "your eyes". his eyes seem to glisten n are so bright! i get stopped so often in the shops because u cant help but notice them!

i have used a plethora of things on this page and have bowed the paper a lot but have managed to use up the left overs of the jack n jill collection by prima! this is my 3rd lo i have done using this paper range, luv it to bits!!
so other things used: maya road envelope, pink paislee artisian element, book pages, dress pattern, prima flowers, vine, kaiser leave, lace, twine, button, purple pumpkin button, machine stitching, pink paislee & oa alphas, staples, lots of tattered angels glimmer glaze & mist, texture paste, white paint, tim holtz distress ink.
it was so hard to photo to get the colours right, but the pic does not do the page justice! the colours look lovely in real life n the title doesnt seem so bold.... but anyways here it is....

White With 1 Jan Challenge

Hi all!

First off my heart goes out to all u lovely ladies in qld!!! i can not start to imagine what u r going through. i hope everyone is safe and found higher ground. its amazing how everyone comes together in times of distress. it is truely amazing!!

Onto my post....
I can't do nice girly shabby layouts all the time!! as i have a baby boy who is nearly 1 i have to change my stripes to doing boy pages... i have to admit i am not a natural with these! they take me about triple the time to do n i am never 100% happy with them. ahhh well will have to get used to them n practice cause my baby boy isnt going to disappear!!! ever!!! hehe

anyways i thought i would give the WW1 a go this month. The challenge was to used Navy or Royal Blue, banner and of course White! hehe

my stash must be getting low cause i need more white cardstock, this was my last piece so had to make sure i didnt screw up the paint effect!!

here is my page "Explore" - i chose the royal blue. i hope i have met the criteria!!
I have used cool blue paint, white cardstock, sassa, bella blvd, making memories, pink paislee and kaiser papers, purple pumpkin string & buttons, other buttons, MLS & sassa alphas, scrapware chipboard, machine stitching.

TCR #40

Hey hey

first of all i would like to thank you for all your lovely comments, they are soo much appreciated! sometimes i really wonder if my lo's are up to scratch with all you gorgeous ladies... self doubt, i think we all have times like it!

anyways i thought i would give the colour room a go this week. when i seen the colours i knew what pic n papers i were going to use! i had just got these Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology papers from made with memories on thursday and have been dying to use them!!!!
And to top it off TCR wanted shimmer n mists so perfect with the resist papers.
There are a lot of different things going on.... i think i have overdone the page but ahh well, there are no mistakes in scrapbooking right?
Used Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology papers, Prima flower n bling, kaiser pearls, dusty attic & twiddlybitz chipboard, buzz n bloom frame, pink paislee artisian elements, american craft title, kaiser alphas, tulle, tissue paper.

KIU Jan 2010 - Summer LO

ok done another LO last night .... this time for the KIU Jan challenge. You had to create a LO based on Summer, well when i was on holiday I took a photo of my Havai's and Suncream which I thought I could scrap as they are my Summer Essentials! If I dont wear suncream I burn.... i think i actually squeal when I see the sun my skin is so fair! damn the fair skin, wish I had the Jamaican skin which is in my family a few generations back! Oh yeh n i always wear my trusty havaianas, i have quite a few pairs but the silver ones r my fav!


My Summer Essentials

I have really used a lot of bits n pieces here. when i went to go n get some kraft out of my stash low n behold i had none!!! wtf?? how can i run out of kraft, so thought i would use some old trusty corragated (sp) card as the base..... K&C paper, Prima packaging with tissue paper glued to it, maya road envelope stamped with prima stamp in white paint, netting, lots of twine, prima vine, heidi swapp alphas, MLS alphas, scrapware chipboard, Pink Paislee Artisian Element AND all the shells etc are from Starvation Bay my mum collected them for me and I said to her that what on earth would I want them for?? well here they are!! she had stashed them in my glovebox for me to find!

Get Picky Inspiration #3 challenge

Hi all.... first post and scrappin' since being back from holidays - we went down to esperance and hopetoun for 10 days. it was such a lovely holiday! my hubby said to me one day "this is the most time i have spent with nathan (DS)"...... we all had a ball, but after 10 days of camping our own bed was more than welcoming!! haha
