Scrapbook Memories blog hop! happening here!

Welcome to the Scrapbooking Memories BLOG HOP!!!

This is a themed blog hop and all our layouts are clues and you must try and guess the theme and post your answer on the Scrapbooking Memories blog HERE

Here is my layout... it's about my recent allergy tests as I suffer all the time from hayfever! I found that I am highly allergic to most things and am starting desensitisation at the end of the month! I hope this is a start to being allergy free *fingers crossed* and not living off antihistamines.

"Spring"

In case you can't enlarge my layout my journaling reads, "it's not just a Spring thing. It's an all year round thing".

So if you haven't seen Heather's layout head BACK to her blog to see her take on the theme at http://heathermcmahon09.blogspot.com.au

BUT NEXT ON THE HOP IS......

Until next time

Easy background techniques - short video tutorial by me.... ENJOY

Hi there

How are you all going?

I'm not sure if you have seen my You Tube Channel just yet but I am slowly adding videos and sharing some of my techniques on there. I am trying to keep things sweet and short so as not to bore you too much and I also 'speak' and 'talk things through' in my videos (I hate my voice but I think speaking is the easiest way to relay information)...

Anyways this is a layout I created for my Paperhaus blog day and I have put below the link to my You Tube video on how I created some of the background effects.

"Remember"

And the video....

I've gotta run Homeland is about to start and can't miss it!

Navy Blue + Sequins = LOVE!

Hi..... well from a long holiday from Blogger I am surely back. Think you must be getting sick of me by now!

One of my fave paper manufacturers is Crate Paper and I loved their August Creative Challenge which is Navy Blue and Sequins. Now who doesn't love this combo?

So I had to go through my papers and find some navy blue. I found there were some Navy Blue in the Maggie Holmes range along with the Random collection which was release a little while ago. And it's always so much fun scrapping with your leftovers as this means lots of layers of unique shapes.

I don't know why but pie charts came into my mind so I thought, Okay I can do them! I kept them simple and used the same paper for each pie chart but cut on each section to give dimension. I also outlined them with lead pencil followed by an ink marker and used gelatos to shadow underneath and stamped with them in gold on top. Once again with sequins I clustered them. This time I added the glue and just sprinkled them and let them sit where they fell. This gives a great 'randomness' to my page. My other embellishments consist of Crate Paper stickers, pins some gold thread AND I LOVE the gold thickers. I used a pop of pink and yellow just to finish it off with a polaroid frame from the Maggie Holmes collection.

Have an awesome day :)

Sketchbook 365 - back into it!

Hello hello!!

It feels so good to be able to have some time to scrap some extra layouts lately.

I have used the Sketchbook 365 sketch for inspiration to create this layout. I have mirrored the photo but kept pretty much everything the same, I have just added my usual extra embellishments and layers.

At the moment I am in love with sequins. I am finding them bunched all together creates a gorgeous embellishment cluster. I have used the most pretty papers again, Carta Bella Hello Again (available at Paper Stories) and teamed it up with a MME Nostalgia layered sticked 'love'. I have also used gelatos for an extra wash of colour and gesso to distress.

"Love"

So there you have it.

I will be back shortly to share another creation.

Have a great day :)

Hope to be Best Friends - using Carta Bella Hello Again!

Hello again! funny that because it's the name of the paper range I have been working with... the beautiful Carta Bella Hello Again range by Kaitlin Sheaffer. The colours are just beautiful and perfect for this photo of my little girl and her new cousin, Katie.

I have layered up heaps of papers, stickers and cottons and then wrapped the photo in some Maya Road twine.

For the background I used a Faber-Castell Gelato in soft pink and rubbed it onto a piece of baking paper and then wet it down and pressed it onto the white cardstock to get the water coloured effect. To add a mixed media feel I gently swiped the edges of the papers etc with gesso, and lightly drew some heart shapes onto the white background.

"Best Friends"

All these beautiful papers are available at the Paper Stories store.

Until next time....

A catch up...... and Paper Stories DT

Hello! seems like I have been missing in action once again!
I have been busy creating but not blogging.

I am thrilled to be staying on with the Paper Stories Design Team and working alongside the amazingly talented Georgia Heald and Natalie Elphinstone.

So I have been busy creating for Paper Stories and I have designed two pages for the latest kit "Snapshot". This kit comes with the instructions to create 2 single layout mixed media pages in my signature style. It is an awesome kit and I really enjoyed working with it. Here is a preview of my layouts. You will be able to delve a little bit into my workings when creating a layout and the layers and steps I use in putting them together. You can find the kit here.

Bigger close ups

I have used pics of my boy but the colours would work well for any photo!

And here are a few more things I created with the Snapshot kit......

I will be back soon with a page I have created with the beautiful Carta Bella Hello Again range.

Paper Stories sketch June and catch up

Well Hello!!!!

Seems like forever ago I blogged and actually that's the truth!!

Been a hectic few months for me and I can not believe it is June already! where have the first 5 months gone?? I have still been creating. I have made 2 smallish canvas' and a few layouts for the magazine but just been keeping things to minimum. If you follow me on Instagram (you can find the link in my sidebar) I share peeks when I'm creating. And also post snapshots of layouts in process too.

In a few weeks we are off on holidays for a mid year break. Can't wait to sit back and relax. Should be fun. Hope the kiddies are well behaved for the plane trip!

As the new month is here - 6 days into it, here is my layout for the Paper Stories sketch challenge.

My layout is of my sisters brand new baby and my little boy. He loves "baby katie" to bits!

I have used an older Glitz range teamed up with a Maggie Holmes patterned paper for the background. I distress the paper with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink by folding the paper and inking the creases. A bit of stamping, layers of paper and Prima and VOILA!

Baby Katie

Head on over the the PS blog to see all the inspiration from the DT!
For the winner of the challenge is a $20 voucher to the Paper Stories store.

And while I am here - here is my share on last months Paper Stories MAY sketch..... Went a bit crazy with the yellow water colour but looks awesome IRL. I have used Glitz again along with a few of Elles Studio bits and pieces.

Have a great rest of the week AND to all the girls attending the Brissy Papercraft show this weekend HAVE FUN and ENJOY! wish I could make it.

its all about FUN!

Just popping in very quickly today to share my layout for the Sassy Scrappers sketch challenge.

I have used a combination of alcohol inks and water colours to create the background. I love the viabrancy of the alcohol ink and how it works over the top of gesso.

Prima BAP using Paper Stories Love of a Lifetime kit

Me AGAIN!

I have been busy creating but not blogging, so this morning I got out my camera and started photoing my layouts. With no sunny days ahead here in Perth I had to make the most of the morning sun.

This layout is for the Prima BAP. I have rotated it and then flipped it to suit. I have used the Paper Stories Love of a Lifetime kit which is full of Engraver and Lifetime papers. I have added some extra Prima products like the lightbulb and birds.

I have been experimenting lately with Luminartes H2O's and I am loving the watercolours. A warning to you that the next few layouts I post will be full of more watercolour backgrounds!

I love the clear pebbles with Helmars 450 used to glue them down and it has created air bubbles underneath.

A more traditional flower clusters but with a mixed media twist.

he is.... Sketchbook365

a very good morning to you all!

quickly popping in to share my layout for the Sketchbook 365 sketch. The sketch did throw me and yes I have added my touches but the base is still there - i promise!

I have used Teresa Collins papers to create this layout of my husband. It's not the best pic of him but they are so hard to get. I normally just get a blank look and here he is at Yallingup Beach relaxing with a beer.

I have used the most awesome watercolours - Luminarte H2O's. They provide shimmer with a highly pigmented watercolour. Must get my hands on more of these!

So here is my layout
"You Are My World"

Thanks for popping by
